A rewire is not a job that can be dropped into the middle of a renovation wherever there happens to be a gap. It comes in two halves with everybody else's work sandwiched between them. First fix — cable, back boxes, board position — has to be finished and checked before a plasterer comes anywhere near a wall. Second fix, the sockets, switches, fittings and the board itself, cannot start until the plaster is dry and the decorator has been through. Get that order wrong and somebody is cutting into fresh plaster within a fortnight, which nobody enjoys paying for twice.
So the first thing we ask in Codsall is not what the house is, it is what else is happening and when.
